The secret of bright-blooming annuals

3. 3. 2013

This hint for successful growers lies in a perfectly composed recipe of the Profi substrate by AGRO CS. The substrate is mixed with the best components available on one of the cutting-edge production lines in the Czech Republic, using one of the latest releases by Everris (formerly Scotts) fertilizers. This latest release is Osmocote Bloom, a 100 % pellet fertilizer with controlled release of nutrients.

Osmocote Bloom

This fertilizer is fully adapted to bedding plants of smaller size.

Advantages

The pellets are much smaller than other fertilizers by the same brand. They are calibrated to 1.4 – 2 mm size. The 2:1:3 nutrient ratio fully meets the requirements of short-lived bedding and balcony cultures in portable trays (10-packs) or in small pots. The expected period of cultivation is three months. Regular release of nutrients and maximum efficiency of use make this fertilizer very friendly to the environment. The plants do not tend to grow unevenly, they form compact clumps, which reduces the need for growth regulators and saves growers’ money. The content of micronutrients ensures perfect blooms in bold colours.

Further recommendations

Cultures with crop cycle longer than three months can be fertilised with Osmocote Exact Standard High K 11-11-18 as a follow-up feeding additive into the substrate.

Conclusion

The use of Osmocote Bloom brings only the best at a minimum price – the plants are full of bright and healthy-looking blossoms. The fine granulation allows for an even distribution throughout the substrate in individual pots, including very small sizes, and thus harmonious crop. The plants are regular, strong and compact; their retail attractiveness is very high.
